My Approach
My style can be summarized as a gentle cheerleader. I strive to provide a sense of warmth and encouragement in all of my sessions and make sure my clients feel seen and heard. It is my belief that I am not meant to push someone toward change but rather walk alongside them as they navigate life’s challenges. I especially enjoy helping people to view situations from new perspectives and to try to approach their concerns in new ways. I have worked with clients of every age from early childhood to mid-90’s and am of the belief that it is never too late to make a change and live a happier life.
About Me
I currently offer therapy services in Arizona, Massachusetts, and Maryland. I love being able to support people from out West to back East!
Before moving to the greenery of the Pacific Northwest, I earned my MSW from Arizona State University during which time I interned in a VA outpatient mental health clinic and provided counseling services to the veteran population. From there I provided acute crisis stabilization for children experiencing suicidality as well as ongoing counseling services to children and teens, with a focus on depression, anxiety, and trauma.
In more recent years, I have primarily focused on supporting adults dealing with chronic illness, career changes, relationship issues, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness, boundary setting, and life stage transitions.
I specialize in working with young adults as well as the 65+ population. In my free time, I try to practice the same level of self-care that I encourage for my clients. I enjoy going for walks with my rescue dog Zoom (who often likes to join the video sessions as my dedicated co-therapist!), exploring new coffee shops, baking, roller skating, and spending time with my family.
